We’re keeping supporters connected at Wimbledon 2018

Wimbledon 2018 welcomed back many big players to the prestigious tournament held at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club. With Serena Williams dominating the lead-up news, Novak Djokovic one of the favourites to win his 4th Wimbledon title, and Kyle Edmund representing the UK as Britain’s number 1, the tournament was bound to stir up some interest.

Players battled it out for a gruelling 14 days in order to be in with the chance of lifting the 132nd Wimbledon trophy. Djokovic scooped the men’s singles prize while Angelique Kerber came home victorious after beating Williams in a tense final.

Alongside many wonderfully British traditions at the tournament, including devouring over 33 tonnes of strawberries and cream, Wimbledon is investing in forward-thinking technologies to make everyone’s tennis experience better. Behind the scenes, officials, organisers, and engineers worked hard to ensure the running of the tournament went as smoothly as possible.

For the second year in a row, we’re provided Wimbledon with a reliable mobile network, giving officials and players the freedom to browse wherever they were onsite, both indoors or underground. Working closely with the club’s IT team, our service was installed inside the main broadcast centre and the sub-surface VIP and players’ areas, taking 3G browsing to another level. We had three of the UK’s main network providers on board this year, allowing us to serve mobile network to more people than ever before.

After such a successful campaign, Wimbledon has invited us and our 24/7, multi-operator phone services back to the tournament for 2019. Our proven connectivity is one of the best ways to ensure you’ve always got network. Find out more about the capabilities of an indoor, multi-operator mobile signal service here or call us on +44 333 00 66 100 to speak directly with our team.
